On November 22, 2009, students, friends and family of the Gracie Barra Countryside community gathered along with Professors Carlos Lemos. Jr. and Pablo Ortega for the 2nd GBC Internal Tournament. A great time was had by all as they watched over 20 athletes among kids and adults compete in 4 divisions: Absolute, white belt-heavyweight and white belt-lightweight and “future champions I”.
The 2009 Absolute champion of Gracie Barra Countryside is Mr. Erick Waller (2nd degree blue belt). In the White belt-heavyweight division, Mr. Garfield Thompson IV took top honors, while Dr. Ryan Headley reigned victorious in the white belt-lightweight division.  All of the competitors should be congratulated for demonstrating great sportsmanship, technique and control.  Further, the Gracie Barra Countryside family and Professors Lemos and Ortega can take pride in these individuals for the quality of character shown.      
Finally, the Gracie Barra family was proud to have six students of the youth program exhibit their skills and knowledge in matches that showed great promise for the future of Gracie Barra.
