Prof Ryu Ominami just earned his Judo Black Belt 1o Dan on Judo’s world famous Kodokan Judo Institute in Tokyo Japan.

We would like to proudly announce our first student of the month, Dr. Ryan Headley. Dr. Ryan is a general surgeon at La Grange, Hinsdale and MacNeal hospitals and he has been a loyal supporter of the academy since his inception as a member and his jiu-jitsu has seen a tremendous progression in the time that he’s been here. As well, among us he is considered the toughest doctor on the planet, and we are extremely fortunate to have him with us.
A few words from Dr. Ryan:
I’d like to thank professors Carlos, Pablo and the class for this distinction. Training at GBC has provided a mental and physical outlet that I otherwise lacked. The camaraderie and team atmosphere is much appreciated.

Louis Tobar and Hector V has been involved with martial arts since the 1990’s, both privately and in classroom structures. They has studied Thai boxing, Boxing, Jeet Kune Do, Jiu-Jitsu and MMA.
Louis holds a Black Belt in Kyokushinkai Karate while Hector is a hybrid striker. Louis and Hector are excellent instructors,Anyone who comes to their classes are impressed with the sharpness of their striking skills and teaching methods,They focus on the basics and step by step to develop real good strikers at competition level.
Louis has trained several high level fighters.
Coaches Louis and Hector are used to develop very quickly students from scratches to high caliber strikers.

Prof. Lemos Jr and Prof.Ortega would like to invite all the members and parents of GB Countryside this next Saturday,June 12 of 2010 at 4:00Pm for an extraordinary meeting and sparring session afterwards.
The agenda of the meeting is: The future of GB Countryside, competition team, summer events and vision of Prof.Carlos Lemos Jr for our club on the next six months.
